Repurposed Jewelry Storage

As I am in the process of spring cleaning, I thought it would be nice to take the change and get organized!  I don't own a great number of jewelry pieces compare to a lot of you out there I'm sure.  But still, I like to be able to easily see and find exactly what I need when I needed them.  This has been a work-in-progress goal and I think I found a really fun and economical way to spice things up.

Items like tea cups, saucers, crystal dishes, white ceramic bowls we all have lying around the house are actually perfect for sorting jewelries!  Instead of having them collecting dust on shelves, find a few that you like, clean and display them on your vanity table or arrange them in drawers.  Categorize jewelry pieces by colors, styles, and types into each vessel, or don't categorize!  Have fun with them!

Earrings can be like young lovers, so perfect as a pair in the beginning but easily separated and lost.
Hang earrings on rims of cups so they stay organized and are easily spotted.

(*≧▽≦) yummy idea don't you think?

I also found a couple stain finished heart shaped chocolate boxes during my cleaning, with silk flowers, bows and everything.  Seem like a pity to throw away, so I thought they would be great for storing larger items like chunky necklaces and bangles.

Please share your experience of any stylish and cheap way to stay organized! ☆ミ(o*・ω・)ノ

Urban Decay Haul & Friends Family Sale

Hey Everyone!
Today I want to share with you a couple recent purchases I've made with Urban Decay.  Like many of you, I'm a fan of UD, the brand offers vegan friendly product that are actually nicely made with superb quality.

I was excited to see the Naked Basics come out just not too long ago.  I own both the Naked and the Naked 2 palette, they offer a great range of rich neutral colors, and I use them ALL THE TIME!  However I've been secretly wishing there be something with all matte colors, since for me that would be more practical for everyday use.  I guess sometimes wishes do come true!

Only Foxy is the same from Naked 2, but the color is great for highlighting on my skin tone, I don't mind having double :)

Like the new case, very compact, easy to carry around and fit in most of my make up bags!  and like that they stayed away from the velvety material of the original Naked palette, it was pretty, but just too difficult to keep clean ;)

So many ways to use these shades!  I like using the lighter shades for highlighting the eye area as well as the nose bridge.  The darker colors are great for defining the eye, touching up eyebrows, and black of course is great as eyeliner.

Another item I purchased was the new limited edition Glinda palette, inspired by the Disney movie OZ the Great and Powerful.  It was an easy decision for me to choose Glinda over Theodora, since most of the eye shadows I already own are of brownish colors, and since spring and summer are coming, I thought some pink/purple hue would be really nice.

I love everything included in this set ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ

Glinda is the good witch played by Michelle Williams, her look is very dreamy and sweet.

The palette comes with a get-the-look card, very handy!

Love the sleek tin case, beautiful stardust pink, gold, peachy backdrop

The collectible tin is made as a Build Your Own palette for versatility (`∀´)Ψ

A super saturated high gloss lip color and a travel size 24/7 glide-on eye pencil are included.

A gift with purchase from urbandecay.com, not too impressed, I've had better (・ω・。)

Happy Chinese New Year!

My parents purchased some flowers to plant in the garden for the new year.
This one caught my eyes and I thought it looked quite unique and beautiful.
In the new year, hope no matter our days are blooming with joy or withered with difficulties,

Wish everyone a very happy year!

Mix & Match into Spring

Earlier this week, my family and I, like most Chinese, have celebrated the start of spring (lichun).  According to Chinese calender, a year is divided into 24 solar terms, and lichun is the first solar term.  It is the time when winter ice melts away and animals awaken from hibernation.  With days getting longer and weather warmer, make plans to put away the winter wardrobes and get ready for spring!

I have added a few spring pieces on sale in my shop :)  For choice of color, I selected shades of greens and blues as the theme for the season, as I think they represents spring and the meaning of it well.  And to add a twist of fun, I've mixed and matched the color blocks to create unique color combos.  Like many of my other earrings, these are made with beautifully crafted glass stones, that capture light changes so well.  I just wish my photography skill was good enough to do them justice and show how charming they look in person!

As the temperature rises, I will start to add more warm-colors pieces.  I'm thinking shades of violets, citruses, and reds ( ゚▽゚)/ if you have any suggestions, please leave me a note, and stay tuned for more new items!
