What does your Diamond Engagement Ring say about you?

Saw this the other day, thought it's something fun to know.
Besides the round, I think cushion and emerald are a tie for me!  and the descriptions might just fit me as well :)

Keeping Organized

So I found this fine-looking leather wrapped notebook while going through my shelves.  It was purchased a couple of years ago when I first started my Etsy shop, with the intent to use it as an idea/sketch keeper for everything related to shop stuff.  Somehow, the book was never around when I needed it, and I had been using sticky notes and lose paper to catch down any design sparks…

To keep things organized in the future, I am going to try and keep it in my purse and close to me at all times.  I think it’s going to be great and I’m looking forward to fill up the pages with awesome ideas for the shop!

Have a great weekend!

Perfect Summer Bag by Gift Shop Brooklyn - An Etsy Shopping Experience

While searching for the perfect summer bag for my upcoming vacation, I came across this beautiful handmade piece by fellow Etsy seller Gift Shop Brooklyn.  The stunning sequin pattern had me at the first peek, and I was half in love with the bag and couldn't wait to order and receive it in the mail.

Daisy Earrings. Great Gatsby Inspired Pearl Jewelry

I had watched the 1974 The Great Gatsby in my high school film class, and was fascinated by the costume, hair and makeup of the characters, especially of Daisy Buchanan.  As a fan of the roaring 20’s fashion, I was overjoyed when news about remake of the story came out, and I have been ever since!

I have not yet seen the movie, but from the trailer and posters, the movie seems very promising, as far as costumes and jewelries are concerned.  My favorite is the headpiece by Tiffany and Co worn by Daisy, just so ravishing and elegant.  I couldn't help but made these gorgeous earrings, using similar pearl tassel design,  featuring Swarovski crystal pearls and cubic zirconia dazzled posts.

These earrings will soon be for sale in my shop!

Bride Provocateur - Inbal Dror Rome 2012 | Photo Heavy

I first came across Inbal Dror while randomly browsing the Internet.  Her gowns instantly attracted my attention and I was left amused with how sensual yet elegant each piece is.  Inbal Dror is an haute couture and wedding dress designer based in Ashdod Israel.  Her 2012 Rome collection is absolutely incredible with intricate and detailed trims, plunging low backs, and figure hugging silhouettes that sure to have your pulses racing.

I hope you enjoy these photos from the collection, as they are wonderfully photographed and each shot is as stunning as the dresses themselves.

New Items! Preparing for Wedding Season

As I Do season approaches, I have been busy preparing more bridal themed pieces for my shop.  As most of the items in my shop, due to my love for gold toned jewelries, my new items are also made using tarnish-free gold plated parts and findings.  I favor gold toned jewelries because they give a vintage, old world feeling and help with creating a softer warmer look.

Relationship Status by your Ring Finger

Hey There~

Hope all is well!  I came across this earlier and thought it was pretty interesting.

Right index finger - single, waiting for love
Right middle finger - dating, unavailable
Right ring finger - in love
Right pinky - not looking for relationship

Left index finger - single
Left middle finger - engaged (in some culture)
Left ring finger - married
Left pinky - will never marry

Thumbs - independent, free-willed

Personally I like wearing rings on index finger, especially for fashion/cocktail rings!

Urban Decay FF Haul Review

Hi Everyone!

First of all, Happy International Women's Day to all you ladies out there!

Just want to do a quick sharing of my thoughts on the items I got from Urban Decay's spring Friends & Family sale.  A few things in my makeup box were running low or needed an upgrade, and as you know UD hosts FF sales twice a year, so it was the perfect chance to stock up.

As always I love how UD makes good quality vegan makeup brushes!  I like this Good Karma Powder Brush with its big and really fluffy brush head, and it is so so soft when sweeping across skin.

The Lush Lash Mascara, also vegan, is said to be infused with growth conditioning serum.  I have not yet used it often enough to tell if the serum works, but the mascara itself is easy to apply and does a good job lengthening lashes, no clumping and looks very natural.

The Double Ended 24/7 Eye Pencil Set comes with a Grind House double barrel sharpener, and two double ended eye pencils in 4 different colors, including the basic browns, black, and a brand new navy blue color called Sabbath.  I like using pencils for lining my eyes, and these apply really smoothly, and blend smudge nicely too!

Last but not least, the De-Slick Mattifying Powder.  I have combination skin type, especially during warm weather, I often have to carry oil blotting paper with me, since it's not cool to blind people with a shiny face.  This powder is really lightweight, it has a very light lavender tint but applies on skin translucent, and comes with a cute applicator.  The case is relatively compact, and fits in any evening clutch easily.

Gift with purchase is the new Naked Skin beauty balm, which I have not yet tried.
Also received an UD sticker with coupon code on the back.

Hope this helps, and TGIF!

Repurposed Jewelry Storage

As I am in the process of spring cleaning, I thought it would be nice to take the change and get organized!  I don't own a great number of jewelry pieces compare to a lot of you out there I'm sure.  But still, I like to be able to easily see and find exactly what I need when I needed them.  This has been a work-in-progress goal and I think I found a really fun and economical way to spice things up.

Items like tea cups, saucers, crystal dishes, white ceramic bowls we all have lying around the house are actually perfect for sorting jewelries!  Instead of having them collecting dust on shelves, find a few that you like, clean and display them on your vanity table or arrange them in drawers.  Categorize jewelry pieces by colors, styles, and types into each vessel, or don't categorize!  Have fun with them!

Earrings can be like young lovers, so perfect as a pair in the beginning but easily separated and lost.
Hang earrings on rims of cups so they stay organized and are easily spotted.

.•´*.¸☀.•´♥ *♫ .♥.•* Stack! stack! stack! ヽ(・∀・*)ノ

(*≧▽≦) yummy idea don't you think?

I also found a couple stain finished heart shaped chocolate boxes during my cleaning, with silk flowers, bows and everything.  Seem like a pity to throw away, so I thought they would be great for storing larger items like chunky necklaces and bangles.

Please share your experience of any stylish and cheap way to stay organized! ☆ミ(o*・ω・)ノ

Urban Decay Haul & Friends Family Sale

Hey Everyone!
Today I want to share with you a couple recent purchases I've made with Urban Decay.  Like many of you, I'm a fan of UD, the brand offers vegan friendly product that are actually nicely made with superb quality.

I was excited to see the Naked Basics come out just not too long ago.  I own both the Naked and the Naked 2 palette, they offer a great range of rich neutral colors, and I use them ALL THE TIME!  However I've been secretly wishing there be something with all matte colors, since for me that would be more practical for everyday use.  I guess sometimes wishes do come true!

Only Foxy is the same from Naked 2, but the color is great for highlighting on my skin tone, I don't mind having double :)

Like the new case, very compact, easy to carry around and fit in most of my make up bags!  and like that they stayed away from the velvety material of the original Naked palette, it was pretty, but just too difficult to keep clean ;)

So many ways to use these shades!  I like using the lighter shades for highlighting the eye area as well as the nose bridge.  The darker colors are great for defining the eye, touching up eyebrows, and black of course is great as eyeliner.

Another item I purchased was the new limited edition Glinda palette, inspired by the Disney movie OZ the Great and Powerful.  It was an easy decision for me to choose Glinda over Theodora, since most of the eye shadows I already own are of brownish colors, and since spring and summer are coming, I thought some pink/purple hue would be really nice.

I love everything included in this set ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ

Glinda is the good witch played by Michelle Williams, her look is very dreamy and sweet.

The palette comes with a get-the-look card, very handy!

Love the sleek tin case, beautiful stardust pink, gold, peachy backdrop

The collectible tin is made as a Build Your Own palette for versatility (`∀´)Ψ

A super saturated high gloss lip color and a travel size 24/7 glide-on eye pencil are included.

A gift with purchase from urbandecay.com, not too impressed, I've had better (・ω・。)

Urban Decay is having it's Friends & Family sale starting today, store wide 20% off including sale items!  Have fun shopping :)

Mix & Match into Spring

Earlier this week, my family and I, like most Chinese, have celebrated the start of spring (lichun).  According to Chinese calender, a year is divided into 24 solar terms, and lichun is the first solar term.  It is the time when winter ice melts away and animals awaken from hibernation.  With days getting longer and weather warmer, make plans to put away the winter wardrobes and get ready for spring!

I have added a few spring pieces on sale in my shop :)  For choice of color, I selected shades of greens and blues as the theme for the season, as I think they represents spring and the meaning of it well.  And to add a twist of fun, I've mixed and matched the color blocks to create unique color combos.  Like many of my other earrings, these are made with beautifully crafted glass stones, that capture light changes so well.  I just wish my photography skill was good enough to do them justice and show how charming they look in person!

As the temperature rises, I will start to add more warm-colors pieces.  I'm thinking shades of violets, citruses, and reds ( ゚▽゚)/ if you have any suggestions, please leave me a note, and stay tuned for more new items!
